Research Ideas

There are a number of different ways to research from the audience in what type of music genres they like or have an interest in.
Here are three:
1) Questionaires/slips: You could send these quick slips of questionaires that won't be that time consuming, just stating what their interests in music are. Send these to friends/people around school etc...
2) Internet poll: To get a variety of different people answering, you could set up a poll in music forums and different websites (music related)and see what people think.
3) Voice recording: This is a quick and simple way of just getting people's opinions of their interests in music genre, there also would'nt be the question of the people being conscious of their apperance as opposed to if you were to record them using a video camera.

Generic conventions of music videos.

The main conventions of a music video would be the editing part of cutting fast, the cuts would be no longer than 10 seconds.
Some other extra conventions would be something like dancing, however not in all videos. There are other conventions such as performance which there are dancing as mentione before, singing and sometimes artists who play instruments then occationally
you see them with an instrument. Also the costumes would differ according to the genre. For example in R&B/Rap music videos the costumes worn would be baggy clothes, jeans and heavy jewellery. However in Rock music videos the costumes would be like skiny jeans and leather jackets e.c.t... They also would probably be holding an instrument like an electrical guitar.

Two Genres of music. Pop and R&B

Pop music is an abbreviation of 'popular'. It is a commercially recorded music, and often orientaited towards a youth market. It's usually short and simple love songs. Examples of popular artists from pop music would be groups such as ABBA and artists such as lady gaga and Justin bieber etc... I think the group ABBA is popular because they construct their music in a way that they use different types of music to blend in with pop, such as techno, indie, etc... I think artists like Lady gaga is popular is because she sort of creates her music in a wacky way. However the king of pop is Micheal Jackson, who is a legend in pop.
R&B is an abbreviation of Rhythm and Blues. It is a genre of popular African American music. Examples of Popular artists from the R&B genre would be Rihanna and Usher etc...

Lipsynching - Evaluation to Bohemian and common people

We did two lipsynching tasks. The first one was lipsynching to Bohemian rahpsody by Queen. The secound one was lipsynching to Common people by Pulp. In the first task we went out and filmed a bit from the song and in the secound task we focused on the persons mouths so we can see their mouths clearly.
The things that went well for us is that while editing we got the most of the lipsynching synchronised, for both of the tasks.
However there are things that could've been improved, these are that in the Bohemian song there was a part where the "Galellio" overlaped and we did'nt realise so we had to edit that part in way that the high pitched "Galellio" sounded like an echo.
The tips that i would give to my future self is that to listen with the song and lipynch to get it more effective.
